The Crew of Pegasus
Six months of no going to school or work. New places, new countries, new cultures, warm seas, and fair winds. We're going from Connecticut to the Caribbean and back. This is who we are. Sailing over the horizon goes the crew of Pegasus.

Austin | 52 | I can't believe the trip is here: after a year of planing, our family is about to fly to the Caribbean where our sailboat, Pegasus, is patiently waiting for us. I am definitely nervous about leaving our friends and family, as well as my colleagues and clients at Robert Half. That said, I can't wait to explore the Caribbean again on our trusty Pegasus, teach the kids how to snorkel on the reefs, meet the locals, have a French pastry or two, and sample the local rums. For those who are interested, we hope to keep this blog up to date with news and pictures of our voyage whenever we have wifi access. Sail safe sail fast!

Kathleen | 49 | The siren song of warm waters and exploration beckon and a new adventure is set to begin. Austin and I have dreamed about the day when we could take Cameron and Alison away on Pegasus for an extended voyage and that day is finally here. I am so looking forward to sharing a different pace and way of life with them: slow mornings, leisurely hikes, snorkeling, horseback rides on the beach, evening bonfires, even lunch on "island time," so many new experiences to live and share. Carpe diem (Seize the day)!

Cameron | 12 | I am very exited about the trip, especially discovering so many new animals in a place where I have never been. I am saddened to leave my wonderful pets behind but I know they are in good hands. I have two main goals for the trip, one being to hike to the top of the tallest point of every island we visit, and the other being finding time in between education to experience the fantastic natural phenomena.

Alison | 10 | I am excited to horseback ride on the islands and to see new breeds of horses, including sea horses, and new animals. I am interested in trying new foods and exploring the islands. I am sad about leaving my pets (Muffin, my chinchilla, and Bailey, our dog) and my friends and will miss my time at Starbuck Equestrian (and Tucker) but am looking forward to new adventures.

We don't know what we will find, sometimes it will be a great anchorage, crystal clear warm water, friendly locals or french baguettes. Other times we know the storms will rule the day. We arrive in St. Maarten on New Year's Eve to continue the voyage of Pegasus.
