Last days on land...

The boat projects are close to completion and we’ve elected to enjoy one more night in the hotel before moving onto Pegasus. We started the day with another breakfast at Zee Best. It is really hard to resist the pastries. It was a day full of odds and ends. Austin worked on projects, Kathleen did some provisioning, and Cameron and Alison explored some of their homeschooling books and helped with some of Austin’s projects. In the afternoon we went to the beach to enjoy the water and do some more shell collecting. Found some great shells again today. Unfortunately, when Austin and Alison went for a swim she got some jellyfish stings that started to blister. Kathleen and Alison hurried back to the hotel room and Kathleen did some quick research on treating stings. The recommendation was to apply vinegar, but we didn’t have any. Using quick thinking Kathleen remembered the Italian salad dressing in the fridge (which has vinegar in it) and slathered Alison’s stings, and most of Alison, in dressing. Fortunately it worked. For the last few days we have been going to the beach for an hour or two and Cameron and Alison found some really cool shells at a long ledge along the edge of the beach. We have also played some Frisbee and practiced snorkeling. Cameron used his snorkel to find some of the sea shells in the picture below.

With our departure from the hotel tomorrow we will likely be posting less frequently. Thanks for following and we will be back when we are able.

Adolf's Meat Tenderizer is a MUST for Jellyfish stings and nasty tentacle cuts, and old trick from my Hawaiian roommate. Have greatly enjoyed your January travels! Keep up the posts! Your paddle buds send love!
