A short and sweet blog post as today is February 28th and we need to shift to March/April starting tomorrow. After a very productive four days at Crown Bay Marina for Kathleen and Austin and many satisfying meals at Tickles Pub, on Monday, we untied the dock lines and headed to Culebra, one of the Spanish Virgin Islands. As far as Kathleen is concerned, the true adventure is

beginning as, if and until we reach the Chesapeake, we will be in islands that neither Austin nor Kathleen have sailed before. After an interesting 3 hour sail (from which direction are the waves/swell coming?!?!) we arrived in Culebra (Ensenada Honda) and cleared in, fou
nd a cold drink at Dinghies Dockside Pub, and then walked around the town of Dewey to get our bearings. The next day,

after some school for Kathleen, Cameron, and Alison, and a few boat projects for Austin, we headed in town to find a taxi to Flamenco Beach – a world famous beach on the north of Culebra – only to be disappointed when we were unable to locate one and no one answered our call. Repeated the same on Wednesday but this time had success finding transportation and enjoyed a really fun afternoon at a beach with great waves. Thursday was a repeat of Wednesday, as both Cameron and Alison wanted to go to Flamenco Beach again. We continue to enjoy our travels and both kids are getting better at multiplayer solitaire and “pitch”.
